Our quiet family campsite has 57 powered and 30 unpowered campsites, ideally located on either side of the beautiful Onaero river and with direct beach access. Enjoy the fishing, surfing, hiking, cycling and relaxing.
About Onaero Bay Holiday Park
Situated in the Taranaki region on New Zealand’s west coast, Onaero Bay Holiday Park is a quiet family campsite with 57 powered and 30 unpowered campsites. We are ideally located on either side of the beautiful Onaero river with direct beach access.
With spectacular scenery and limited phone reception, its the ideal spot for a traditional camping holiday experience.
Dogs
From the end of Labour Weekend to the start of Easter, dogs are prohibited. This is by order of New Plymouth District Council to ensure the safety of our local penguin colony. For the rest of the year, dogs are welcome.

Family Cabin
This cabin can sleep up to four people with one queen bed and a set of bunks. Our guests describe it as cosy, clean and with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The amenities block is just a short walk away. This is the perfect stay for those wanting a great holiday experience but without the hassle of setting up and packing down a camp site. Pillows and top-sheets are supplied, but don’t forget to BYO pillowcases and other bedding!
